There are so many incredible things about being an in-home newborn photographer in Mesa and other parts of the Phoenix Valley. One of the absolute best parts? Bringing the posed newborn session right into your living room, where you and your baby are most comfortable. There’s something so special about capturing those first tender moments in the place you call home. No need to pack up and head to a studio—just snuggle up with your little one while I take care of the rest.
But as magical as newborn sessions are, sometimes things don’t go as smoothly as every mom hopes. Pregnancy and birth can be unpredictable, and I never take for granted the incredible strength and resilience of the moms I work with.
Occasionally, I hear from an expecting mom who is facing complications—maybe baby isn’t growing as expected, or doctors are concerned about other health issues. And sometimes, a mom is preparing for the unthinkable: delivering a stillborn angel. It’s a heartbreaking reality that doesn’t get talked about enough. According to the CDC, 1 in every 175 births is a stillbirth. That means far too many families experience this kind of loss, often in silence.
I want you to know—you are not alone. No matter what your motherhood journey looks like, I am here to support you with compassion and care. Your story matters, and your baby—no matter how long they are here—matters, too.
Meet Natalie

When Natalie reached out to me, she was seven months along and facing a difficult pregnancy. She had seen a post on social media about my own stillbirth experience and was preparing herself for a similar journey. Her baby had been measuring in the 11th percentile for weight and the 1st percentile for limb size, which raised concerns about possible complications. Doctors warned her of major malformations or even the heartbreaking possibility of stillbirth.
Her baby girl finally stabilized at the 10th percentile for weight, but there were still many nerve-wracking days. Some days, baby girl was so still that Natalie wouldn’t feel movement for hours, making kick counts an emotional challenge. Any mom who has had to do kick counts knows the anxiety of waiting for those tiny, reassuring movements. She was admitted to the hospital three times for failed biophysical profiles and non-stress tests. It was a rollercoaster of emotions for this strong momma.
Thankfully, Natalie’s story had a happy ending. After weeks of daily monitoring, strict rest, and so much uncertainty, she delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl. And let me tell you, she had the most stunning platinum blonde hair I’ve ever seen! Seeing her nestled in her mama’s arms, strong and perfect, was nothing short of a miracle.

Motherhood is a journey full of highs and lows, joy and heartbreak. As your photographer, I don’t just capture the perfect, polished moments—I’m here for the real, raw, and beautiful journey that makes your family’s story uniquely yours.
